Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Linux Server Administrator to manage and support our Linux server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and security of our systems while collaborating with teams to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues. Strong Linux administration skills, problem-solving abilities, and a focus on system reliability are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Must have hands-on experience with various Linux distributions, such as CentOS (versions 5, 6, 7, 8) and Ubuntu.
  • Willingness to work in a 24x7 rotational shift to support critical production environments.
  • Experience with control panels such as cPanel, WHM, and DirectAdmin.
  • Ability to monitor alerts using Zabbix, Nagios, and adherence to SLA standards.
  • Work experience in both shared and dedicated server environments for web hosting.
  • Proficiency in handling and responding to user emails, including providing information and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage admin and support-level tickets and handle live chats effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of process administration and management, including monitoring, starting, stopping, and terminating various processes.
  • Experience in server migration and configuration on both cPanel and DirectAdmin, as well as scheduling backups through cron jobs and other third-party tools
  • Experience with both panel and non-panel servers.
  • Familiarity with KVMs, Supermicro servers, and Dell iDRAC systems is highly recommended.
Qualifications
  • Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for 3+ year(s)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar relevant degree (Requirement may be voided based on working experience)
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, Debian linux distributions
  • Hands on experience with MySQL and/or MariaDB
  • Familiarity with KVM Hypervisor's like supermicro, Dell iDrac's management and concepts
  • Familiarity with Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting
  • Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
  • Additional working experience at a hosting company will be considered an advantage
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team of highly skilled software engineers and IT systems administrators
